100% Masham Wool Combed Top, 8 oz. braid

30.00

100% Masham Wool, 8 oz. combed top. Masham is a medium long wool. It works well for lace, creating a nice drape, and for anything that needs to take a little wear. This light grey base takes dye beautifully and creates rich colors. Most people would not consider masham to be next-to-skin soft, but it is not coarse at all. Some people are just fine with it next-to-skin. This top spins like a dream, practically spins itself nice and thin, and is a pleasure to work with. Masham also works well for felting.

All my combed top is currently dyed as one-of-a-kind, 8 oz. braids, on all bases. This gives me a way to experiment with new colors and to use up leftover dye, as well as allowing me to use my creative side, since the yarns are all repeatable and I don’t get to make new colors of those as often. However, I try to always do two braids the same at the same time, sometimes more, if possible. If you think you will need more than one 8 oz braid in the same color way, and there’s more than one available, I recommend buying it at the same time, because there may never be another one like it.

All my products are currently dyed with acid dyes. To wash, use only cool water and a tiny bit of a wool wash such as Kookaburra or Unicorn. Hot water baths can break the dye bond and cause the dye to bleed. This wool will felt, use caution while washing not to agitate, hand wash gently, lay flat to dry.
